立ち上がりに1点を先取されましたがその後は踏ん張りを効かせて後続岡島秀樹投手が８回を完ぺきに抑えるなどし、レッドソックスが２−１で勝ったため、松坂は９勝目（５敗）を手にしました。
二桁勝利まであと一つ、もう崖っぷち何て言わせません。
